Carolyn had an early start in photography in 1967 in Upper State New York. Her first photographic exhibition of prints was displayed in Troy, New York in 1970. Proceeding onward to Northwestern University, she was awarded a photographic prize scholarship through Ponder and Best (Vivitar) Corporation in 1973. Just prior to this scholarship award, Carolyn studied during a summer session with legendary photographer Ansel Adams in Yosemite, California. It was here that her love for black-and-white solidified.

In 1978 she started her professional career in midtown Atlanta specializing in corporate and personal portraiture. Carolyn achieved her certification in 1990 through the Professional Photographers of America Association, shortly after they initiated the certification program. At that time she was one of a handful of professional female photographers in Georgia to have her certification. In 2001 Carolyn opened a new 2,200 square foot studio in north Buckhead. This location is easy to access and has a spacious studio along with a beautiful backyard for outdoor portraits.

Carolynís portraits have received many commendations through the Professional Photographers of America Association. Her sensitivity in capturing the beauty of family relationships and spirit in individual children is unique and refreshing. Much devotion and time is spent with each child and family to achieve the utmost results.
